ZSL London & Whipsnade Zoo

Visitors can be transported to the Amazon jungle in Rainforest Life or explore the Indian forests of Gujarat at Land of the Lions, coming face to face with animals from across the globe. Run by international conservation charity ZSL (Zoological Society of London) a visit to ZSL London Zoo is not only fantastic fun for people of all ages, it helps to support ZSL’s ground-breaking conservation and science, and inspire future generations to build a world where wildlife thrives.

It’s impossible to experience everything in a day, which is why ZSL London Zoo offers guests the chance to sleep next to the pride of Asiatic lions, right in the heart of the Zoo’s Land of the Lions exhibit, in a ZSL London Zoo Lodge, which includes after-dark tours of the iconic site.

ZSL London Zoo offers fantastic opportunities to get close to rare and beautiful animals such as; In with the Lemurs, In with the Monkeys and the Butterfly Tunnel. Also, brand-new for 2019, our Animal Adventure play area connects young children with nature through play, featuring a Splash Zone, replica of Charles Darwin’s HMS Beagle, and outdoor play park alongside a cast of animal characters such as porcupines, llamas, meerkats and mongoose.

ZSL Whipsnade Zoo

Situated in the rolling hills of Dunstable, Bedfordshire, ZSL Whipsnade Zoo takes the title of the UK’s largest Zoo and boasts 600 acres of space. Visitors can get breath-taking views of iconic species such as our herd of white rhinoceros, Amur tigers, cheetah and family of Asian elephants. Guests are encouraged to marvel at weird and wonderful fish on show in the UK’s only freshwater fish Aquarium, dedicated to the conservation of endangered and extinct-in-the-wild freshwater fish. At lunchtime, ZSL Whipsnade Zoo caters for all, from the Base Camp restaurant, to River Cottage Deli serving delicious healthy delights, and overlooking the iconic Chiltern downs.

Free roaming wallabies and mara on ZSL Whipsnade’s sprawling site make a visit to the Zoo like no other. People young and old will be in awe of the species that call ZSL Whipsnade Zoo home. Adventurous families are invited to embark on a journey riding the onsite steam-train, Jumbo Express, through gigantic paddocks of critically endangered Bactrian camels, and extinct-in-the-wild Prezwalski’s horse. With simply too much to see in a day, visitors can also stay the night in one of ZSL Whipsnade Zoo’s Lookout Lodges, featuring out-of-hours guided tours of the zoo.
