Arrived at the airport after a bumpy journey to Seville and got whisked into the airport toilet by colleagues to get glamed up for this evenings events. So there we all are, marketing directors, P.R managers and me taking off our Havana’s and jeans and replacing them with our Louboutins and dresses in a public toilet (how glamorous). Our drivers arrived and took us to a Palace where we were treated to some great steak and wine Sevilla style.
The next morning I woke up sprawled over this enormous bed! Very comfy and huge. My room was so spacious with a slight Moroccan theme- all the modern touches but true to what you would expect of a true 5* Spanish hotel. I had breakfast in the hotels beautiful court yard and I have to say the coffee was particularly good, like good coffee!
So we spent the day wondering round the beautiful city. It really is an incredible place to be and you actually can’t get over the architecture and history the city has to offer. A few tips came in handy from the hotel insiders “Instead of going to see the cathedral, go to the rooftop bar opposite the cathedral and have a Mojito. It’s literally like you’re at the cathedral but you have a Mojito in your hand!” ….and so we did.
Later on in the evening, it was time for the Alfonso Hotel grand opening party. The night began by sipping Moet on the roof terrace of the royal suite whilst the sun went down. It was sweet! After the ‘casual’ opera singers performed on the balcony, the party moved downstairs to the hotel gardens. Beer and pizza was served to black tie guests whilst we partied with flamenco dancers until the early hours.
A quick visit to the pool in the morning to catch the last bit of sun and then back on a plane back to Heathrow. I have to say that I was so well looked after by all of the staff at the hotel and had such a good time. I’m a W girl at heart but this luxury collection star wood property could certainly sway me in the future……..
