"I arrived on cobbled Folgate Street and stepped into a jewel box” – Vanity Fair
An unusual name for a most unusual small hotel in historic Spitalfields. A perfect escape from the corporate norm. Batty Langley’s is a quirky, even witty blend of heritage, design and character. Travel and leisure ‘it list’ 2016 and one of Conde Nast Traveler’s London Gold List top six in 2017.
The hotel itself looks and feels just like a rather grand, 300 –year old town house, complete with richly furnished drawing room, library, parlour and courtyard garden. Our 29 characterful bedrooms are all furnished with genuine antiques and are named after real people who lived in the area (we don’t believe in numbering our guests). All rooms and suites are generously furnished with pictures and antiques. The beds are either 17th Century carved oak or Georgian 4 posters, windows are hung with heavy silk curtains. The bathrooms have restored period plumbing fixtures and fittings, with either a free standing bath or shower. All rooms are air-conditioned and have complimentary Wi-Fi, flat screen television, Ren toiletries.
