Located in an elegant Georgian townhouse in the heart of Scotland’s capital, 21212 is Edinburgh’s only Michelin starred restaurant-with-rooms.
Chef patron Paul Kitching’s menu features contemporary French-style dishes with unique flavour combinations for an unforgettable dining experience. Edinburgh’s only Michelin-starred restaurant with rooms, 21212, has received rave reviews and numerous awards since it first opened in 2009.
The carefully constructed menu changes each week, giving even regular diners something new to experience on their next visit. Paul has stayed true to his modern French style of cookery, which he championed at his former restaurant Juniper, with combinations sure to delight even the most frequent Michelin diner.
The 38-seat restaurant – which boasts an open kitchen and private dining facilities – offers a gourmet menu consisting of a choice of three starters, a soup course, a choice of three main dishes, a cheese course and a choice of three desserts. The restaurant opens Tuesday-Saturday, and diners have the flexibility to choose from a 2, 3, 4 or 5-course menu.
While Paul’s creations yield unexpected combinations, the deep thought given to the balance of each dish ensures flavours that complement rather than compete and meals that are memorably exciting.
21212 also has four, beautifully appointed luxurious bedrooms, each with a dedicated lounge area. The listed Georgian townhouse is spread over four floors, with the rooms sitting on the top two floors offering commanding views over the gardens to the rear, or the city of Edinburgh to the front.
