Last week the team were invited for a tour of the new Bulgari Hotel. The hotel is situated close to Harrods and Harvey Nichols and is next door to Limelight favourites Zuma Restaurant and Private Member’s Club The Wellington (also a favourite of artist Damien Hirst). As with their jewellery, watches and fragrances, everything about this hotel is top notch and luxurious and I suppose I could say it is “reassuringly expensive!”
There is a private entrance from the underground car park if you want to stay incognito. Once inside you are greeted by great Italian design. We were shown a mix of room types with lead in rooms which featured 2 double beds right up to the penthouse suites which are super cool. A certain supermodel had just finished being interviewed in one of the suites which included an open fire in the middle of the room and a great lounging area with a book stand full of design and children’s books. Bulgari products are in all of the room types as well as gorgeous furniture pieces and well stocked mini bars. In one of the rooms you can sit in the bath tub and watch the comings and goings at the entrance of Zuma!
The public areas are beautifully designed, dark and masculine with many refined touches. You can use the bars and restaurants even if you aren’t a guest in the hotel. If you do go for a drink there you get a complimentary selection of antipasti that is absolutely delicious! Whilst there, we noticed lots of beautiful people! We drank cocktails including a ‘carrot and lavender Bellini’, and a ‘cherry, pistachio Bellini’. There is also an outdoor 12 seat terrace for the summer months. In addition, there is a very cool Cigar Shop and Sampling Lounge which offers a vintage and rare cigar collection. Adjacent to the Cigar Shop is the Sampling Lounge, a comfortable and relaxed environment for up to 20 customers of the Cigar Shop to smoke their cigars indoors. Cigars can be anything from £8 to £900 each!
Interestingly, the spa is located 1 floor below the Picadilly line underground. It is very luxurious and includes a couples room with double jacuzzi and massage tables. There is a fully serviced mani-pedi room as well as a gym full of TechnoGym equipment. They also use the ‘Bodyism‘ system which is favoured by Elle MacPherson and Hugh Grant. You can also eat ‘Bodyism’ approved food in the restaurant. Or you can take a swim in the half-Olympic-sized pool or relax in one of the poolside cabanas or hammam spa. They do offer a membership to use the facilities so please let us know if you are interested.
Another cool feature of the hotel is that it has a 3D and 8.2 Dolby Digital 4K definition cinema room where the chairs can be taken out and sofas installed if you want to chill-axe! The hotel also has a small private room which can be rented out for private events and cocktails plus a fantastic ballroom.
